Lengea is pleased to announce that Shirin Adelman, an attorney in the firm’s corporate and healthcare practice, has been elected to Partner, effective January 1, 2022.

Shirin has substantial experience representing clients in the corporate, healthcare, medical spa, and real estate space. She represents individuals and institutional clients in a broad range of legal matters, including contracts, employment issues, medical spa formation, licensure and certification for healthcare entities, regulatory compliance issues for businesses, securities law issues related to capital raising activities, real estate acquisition and leasing, litigation disputes, employment law issues facing employers and employees, among other areas.

 

Shirin has represented physicians, healthcare providers, Independent Practice Associations (IPA’s), management companies, and State Medical Societies on healthcare law. She has provided legal counsel on contracts, employment issues, physician/hospital joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions of health care entities, physician-owned ambulatory surgery center (ASC) formation and shareholder admissions, and has handled licensure, certification, and risk management issues for these entities.  

 

Shirin also has experience with data privacy and cybersecurity issues, having advised clients on terms of service, privacy policies, beta test, and licensing agreements for their technologies, and on SaaS (Software as a Service) agreements for clients that are expanding their technology platform.  She has collaborated with the State of Connecticut on the state’s cybersecurity strategy.

 

Shirin received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and a Certificate with a focus in finance from the Wharton School of Business. She received her B.A. from Princeton University.

 

She is a member of the New York Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, American Bar Association, among other organizations.

 

Shirin and her husband, and their daughter live in the New Haven, Connecticut area.
